Move over Cullen Family! It's the Brooksby Coven!

On my computer desk sits a picture of my family taken several years back on a partly cloudy day in southern Utah. I spend a lot of time at my computer so I see this picture often. The other day I was looking at it and it reminded me of a quote from Stephenie Meyer's New Moon when Bella says, "My eyes were dark enough against my pallid skin that—if I were beautiful, and seen from a distance—I might even pass for a vampire now." In my family picture all of our skin is pale white and, not to be conceited but, we are beautiful. My family in the picture reminded me of what we might look like if we were a vampire family in the Twilight universe. So I got the idea to then Photoshop the photo and add a few vampiric details. I turned all our eyes a golden color. I perfected our faces of any flaws (i.e. my birthmark. Do you think if I became a vampire it would go away? Not that I want it to, I was just wondering.) I whitened our teeth to a dazzling white. I added slight dark circles under our eyes. The darker the circles the less beautiful we looked so I kept the bruises light. Other than an edge burn on the perimeter of the photo, that is the extent of the edits I made to the original photo.




While playing around with the photo I thought of who each member of my family could represent from the Cullens. My dad would be Carlisle because he is the father and patriarch of the clan. My mom would therefore be Esme. She is an amazing mother just like Esme. With Amy's hair cut short and styled like that and because she is the most petite of us all she just has to play Alice. Therefore Richard has to be Jasper. Plus Richard is in the Army now, technically, so it fits with Jasper's military background. Since Lori is the blonde bombshell of the family she has to be Rosalie. Honestly, it won't be a stretch. After those character castings it gets a little tricky. One, we have no more men in the photo, and two, who gets to be Bella. I would probably be Emmett because I'm the toughest and more like Lori's mate than the other two. Now I might cast Kimberly as Bella because she has the long brown hair and is in the center of the family circle, like she is being protected or shielding everyone else. But Brittney would be a good Bella too because she is quieter and shyer and devoted to her husband. Kimberly would be a good Edward because she is loyal, fierce and a great cook. So Brittney would be Bella and Kimberly would be Edward.
