Rainbow Birthday Cake!!!

Some friends and I threw a surprise birthday party for our friends Eric and Kyle who are brothers and have birthdays a few days apart from each other. I volunteered to make the cake and wanted to make it amazing! I did an image search in Google and found an awesome looking rainbow cake on a woman's blog and a link to the original rainbow cake. I wanted to one up those cakes and decided to make mine 3 layers! It took all day to make and bake but it turned out incredible and was totally worth it!

The ingredients. I love Betty Crocker!

If you want the instructions on how to really make this cake go check out the original rainbow cake. I'm just going to show you the highlights. I mixed up the white cake mix and then divided it into 6 bowls and added color. Lots of color.

Layer it in the cake pan and bake!

The baking mess.

Each layer was an entire cake mix so the finished cake was pretty tall. I used 3 tubs of frosting to get it as covered and even as possible. I asked Desirae to decorate it with bubble gum balls.

I'm really proud of how it turned out as a finished product. We added a ton of sparkler candles as a finishing touch.

After Kyle and Eric finished blowing out all the candles the top of the cake was covered in wax, ash and spit. We thought we warned everyone not to eat the frosting on top of the cake but I guess we forgot to tell Rusty because he ate it. Oops!

The inside! Ta-da!

Eric enjoying his amazing birthday cake!

Happy Birthday Kyle and Eric!!!
