There was a little mishap with my camera last night and we thought it was a goner. At least for a few days until I could get it in to be fixed. After explaining what was wrong with the camera my dad fixed it in a jif! He is amazing! I'm so happy that nothing major was wrong with it or how else would this photo project go on?

#107 of 365: Big Trees

Several years ago my college biology class went on a field trip to Calaveras Big Trees. While hiking around we started noticing millions and millions of ladybugs covering the pathways, bushes, trees. They were everywhere! It turns out that the ladybugs come there to hibernate every year. I remembered this and so Tamara and I wanted to try and go see them. We went to Big Trees but we didn't see one ladybug. I think the weather is still too warm and so they haven't started to hibernate yet. We had a great time regardless. The weather was gorgeous and the deciduous trees were turning colors.

#99 of 365: Disturbing Déjà Vu

Rusty and I went for a looooong drive for something to do and to get out of the house. We drove to Knights Ferry and then out to Turlock Lake. At the lake we hung out on the dock for awhile, taking pictures and looking at the stars. The moon wasn't around so it was really dark and we could see trillions of stars. After sitting on the dock for awhile we started to walk around the lake, through the trees. All of the sudden I got really scared remembering a scene from a movie Rusty and I had watched a couple years ago where a couple gets stabbed to death in a very similar location to the one we were walking through right then. I was seriously freaking out so I made us turn around and head back to the car. Luckily, we survived.

Preparing to bake with the box of pears from Farmer Lou. I made 2 pear cakes with carmel cream sauce, and together Tamara and I made pear/applesauce, almond pear muffins and pear custard. And we still have a bunch of pears left!

There was supposed to be a meteor shower tonight. So Tamara and I got some food and went out to a friend's house in the country to watch it. But apparently the meteors are off schedule or something because we did not see one single meteor.

Reading in bed before going to sleep. Just like every night. I'm obsessed with this book "The Time Traveler's Wife" I think about it all the time, I want to be reading it every time I get a minute. I'm waiting until I finish the book before I see the movie though.

I was driving in the country and just pulled off to the side of the road to get a photo. There were lots of black widows and spiderwebs but I managed to snap a few pictures. None of them were very good but I really like how this one turned out.

Tonight Tamara, Rob and I went to a super cool coffee shop to hear Rob's cousin Bryan play at open mike night (he was definitely the best there) and then we all went to Rob's bunk house to play Beatles Rock Band. I love love love Beatles Rock Band!!! I'm getting a lot better on the drums and I loved singing "Come Together." I'll be spending a lot of time at Rob's now.
